Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
shoplifting
I was caught shoplifting $181.00 worth of clothes from at a department store, I was not formally arrested, ad luckily given a citation to appear in court. I was just wondering how much a lawyer might cost to represent me or should i just go alone--what is usually the punishment?

Re: shoplifting
It is difficult to say as to cost -- $250 on up for
good representation. That will get you through the
process quickly and easily (relatively speaking) and, if
you have no prior problems with the law, get you a minimum
sentence, an alternative disposition (i.e. pretrial diversion),
or occasionally even a dismissal.
