Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
Statute of Limitations on Theft
Person involved entered her workplace after hours (she had keys) and stole funds from safe and expense funds. All employees were questioned by police but no one was ever charged. Obviously she lied. This happened in 1996. Not sure of the amount taken, if it matters.
What are the statutes of limitations if any?
Thanks.

Re: Statute of Limitations on Theft
There is no statute of limitations on felonies under Kentucky law. There is a one year statute of limitations on misdemeanors. The amount of the theft determines whether the crime is a felony or a misdemeanor.
