Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
statutes of limitations
How many years can a person legally wait to press
charges against a person who molested them as a child? At the time of the offenses the child was under the age of 12and then again at the age of approx. 13? This is not RMS. Does the time limit
start at the time of the last offense, or after the child turns 18?

Re: statutes of limitations
There is no statute of limitations on felonies in Kentucky.
There may be speedy trial or due process problems, however.
The statute of limitations for misdemeanors is one year.
