Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

Statutory rape in ky

My daughter is turned 13 in sept.. And she has a boyfriend that just now turned 18. He is a very nice boy and even though she is only 13, they really seem to care deeply for each other. He comes over to our house alot and they are never unsupervised. He is also the best friend of my son who is 15..His parents did not know that my daughter is only 13, and they do not know us at all nor our daughter. Since they have found this out, they told the boy that if he continues to see/ date her that they will call the law and turn him in themselves for statutory rape and disown him. Is this something that they can do? I do not know much about the law but i thought it would have to be someone in the family of the minor person not the family of the 18 yr old boy. Please advise me the best you can.. My daughter is really upset because she cannot see him anymore...Thank you

Re: Statutory rape in ky

There would have to be some proof of sexual contact. Even if they report something, there has to be proof. If the police come to your home, you should NOT speak to them under any circumstances. Not you, not your daughter, not this 18 year old, NO ONE!!
