Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
subject
I was arrested and being charged with att. murder, armed robbery, tamp. evidence, and prostitution. I had no knowledge of the crime while it happened eventhough i was there. I am trying to help the police find my friends that did the crime and i am still being charged with the full offenses. I feel I didn't do anything wrong and that i am being punished for trying to help them locate and capture the 2 fugitives. I have 10 days to find any information about their whereabouts to give to the judge and prosicuter on my next court date. Then I will most likely go to the Grand Jury the way the courts and prosicuter are talking. I feel they are using me to get them and then I will be sent away also. I have already given them a statement about what happened that night, but I feel the detective in charge is trying to throw everything on me. I found out that his ''job background'' isn't so clean and it makes me feel like I am going to jail for something I didn't do and for something I am trying so hard to help them with. What do I do now? I have a lawyer but I sometimes get the feeling that she may not be good enough. I thought because I came to the detective about what happened to the victim I was doing what I was supposed to do.

You need to sit down with your lawyer and tell her of your concerns. She may know things about the case that she has not been able to help you understand or may have learned new information that may make you feel better.
I do NOT recommend that you rush to change lawyers because you are concerned about what is happening. Talk to your lawyer and get an explanation in layman's terms that lets you know where you stand with the court, the prosecutor, and the police.
Good Luck!
