Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
TBUT misdamor and receiving stolen property under 300
I was charged with TBUT misdenor and reciving stolen property under 300. All together the stuff I stole was $18.98 and the recieving stolen property was $9.88.
Do you know how big of a fine I will have to pay?
And I just turned 19.

Re: TBUT misdemeanor and receiving stolen property under 300
Upon a conviction, your court costs will be a bit less than $200. There will not necessarily be a fine (although there could be).
In fact, if you have no prior record, you may qualify for a "diversion" program, in which you do some community service, maybe attend some classes, and have the matter dropped (once you have completed the requirements).
How exactly your case will be handled depends in part on which county your case is in. There are different local practices and different county prosecutors in each county and they may have different local rules. Good luck.
