A ex-girlfriend would lived with me stole of a gold, diamond ring from me that belonged to my deaceased father. She pawned it for drug money. Her mother got it out of pawn for $275.00. I didn't know about this because i thought it was where i kept it, until 2 1,2 weeks ago. Her sister told me about it but stated her mom wanted 275.00 from me for it. Shortly afterwards her mother called my cell phone. i was on the phone with a friend and i 3wayed the phone call. She stated she would denie it and that she had the ring today, but maybe not tomorrow. She knew the ring had belong to my father and that he had passed away. but refused to give it back. the ring is worth 1,000+. the Ex-girlfriend also took my diamond earrring(100+). What can I do? Does my witness count. The ex-girlfriend mother told me i would lose. I can get proof of the phone record. And her sister may tell the truth. It's eating me alive because i lost my dad 2 years ago to cancer suddenly at age 20. That ring is senta. Can you tell me the laws and my rights, cause these people are evil. Re: THEFT Over $300.00

REPORT THIS TO EITHER YOUR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OR THE COUNTY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE. You are worrying about things that you have no control over. Take this information to folks whose job is to prosecute theives. They will be able to review your situation and perhaps resolve it. You can't unless you cave into the mother's extortion. If you had reported the ring stolen, then the police would have been able to obtain it from the pawn shop without paying anything. So could you. You cannnot obtain title to stolen property. Report the mother and your ex-girlfriend.
