Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

I have two trafficking charges in KY, both resulting from controlled buys on May 6th 2010. In July of that year the DEA raided my home, where nothing was found and wanted me to work for them. I gave them the information they needed, which led to arrests. However they wanted me to make controlled buys, 6 of them, and I would not do it out of fear for the safety of my family and myself. In December of that year they indited me, and I was arrested in January of 2011. I have an attorney, but he will not return my calls. This is my first trafficking offense. I am lost and do not know where to start.

You need to keep trying to reach your attorney, and if you aren't satisfied with his representation, simply retain new counsel. Likely you haven't heard from your attorney because there is nothing new to report. This appears to be a felony in federal court, which generally does not move at lightning speed. What defense you take, whether it's attempting suppression of evidence, working a plea with the prosecution, or going to trial, will be worked out through your attorney. Just be aware of your upcoming court dates and keep in touch with your attorney, even if you don't hear back from him right away. Send written correspondence to his office if he doesn't return phone calls, just asking for an update. When it comes time for your trial, you'll be glad for his undivided attention, as opposed to his numerous other clients in the beginning stages of their cases.
