Arrested for Drunk Driving when I wasn't in my car.
I am wondering about the video cameras police officers have in their cars. Are they on when the pull someone over or do they have a choice in turning them on? Because I was in my front yard when two police officers in one cruiser pulled into my driveway behind my vehicle and asked me if I had been drinking. When I asked them what was going on one officer grab my coat and jerked me around and dug into my coat pocket and pulled out my keys and said, ''Aha this proves you were driving.'' I also have my house key and my mail box key on the same ring.
If the cameras were on then this would prove that I was not driving. There are also a lot of other concerns I have about this arrest. The cops in the small town that I live in have a reputation of stomping all over people's rights. Thank you for any advice I receive.

Actually, as to the cameras in the police cruisers, it mainly depends on the officer. In my experience, most leave them on most of the time.
It sounds like you have a good defense to any drunk driving charge. You should definately contact an attorney to have the tape, if there is one, recovered for your defense.
