Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
18 year old high school student moves out of home, does my husband still owe chi
My husband pays child support to his ex-wife. Their daughter, who is still in high school, has just turned 18 and moved out of her mother's house and moved in with some girlfriends - against her parents wishes. However, to make a long story short, the daughter is spoiled rotten and rules the roost, so of course she does as she pleases. Is my husband still required to pay child support to his ex-wife?

The rule in Kentucky is that child support is paid until the child turns 18 or graduates from high school, whichever is later unless the agreement or judgment in the divorce provides other wise. If nothing is said about when the child support payments are to stop, it is 18 or graduation from high school. There have been agreements in the divorce where the non-custodial parent agrees to pay support through college, etc. Look at the paper work and see what it says.
