Can a 17yr old legally live with another adult other than his parent when he will be 18 in 6 months...can other parent who is not the custodial parent have a. Say in the matter. If the 17 does not want to live with the non custodial parent

Eighteen years old is the majority age, and minors do not get to decide where they live. If the non-custodial parent wants to bring a motion before the court for a change in custody to become the custodial parent, he/she is able to do so, and so long as a custody order was not entered in the past two years, it will be judged on the standard of "best interests of the child." Other than parents or "de facto custodians," other individuals will not have standing to move for custody of the minor. Also, just because a parent is not the custodial parent, does not mean they do not have say over where the child lives should the custodial parent agree to allow the child to live somewhere else. Parents most often have joint legal custody while one parent is the residential custodial parent.
