Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Back child support

I have 2 daughters age 14 and 9. And I have been paying $180 every 2 weeks child support. But this is just an oral agreement we have, there never was a marriage. I have been claiming one child each year. Now for some reason she wants to claim both of them. but thats not the problem. When I get ready to confront her with this, I know her first words are ''I'll just take you to court and make you pay back child support for 14 years. I have no receipts, nothing is court ordered, just a verbal agreement I would give her this much twice monthly. So my question is, can she take me back for 14 years? A friend said since both children were already over 5 years old, the court would only reguire me to start from the time she files for it, Which one is correct? Thanks for any help, D. Washburn

Re: Back child support

When a court enters an order for child support, it may only order child support back to the date the Motion for payment of child support is filed.
