Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
child custody
I have told my boyfriend that I want to split up and he has retaliated by threatening me. He said that he will take me to court over custody of our two year old son. He says that he will fight for every other weekend, one night a week and alternating holidays. He does not help me with our son at all right now. He has never had him for more than 2 hours by himself. And he has provided no financial support what so ever. I am worried because my son is my world and I know that his father is just doing this out of spite! Can he actually end up with that much visitation?

Re: child custody
What you have described is pretty much the standard visitation guidelines in most counties except the one night a week is not an overnight in most guidelines. However, child support would be ordered.
As for custody, think in terms of physical custody, which is time-share, and legal custody, which is decision making authority. Courts favor joint legal custody in most circumstances.
