Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
Child Mental Abuse
My 13 yr old daughter hates going to visit with her dad. He has been known to mentally abuse people in his life and I am afraid he is starting in on my daughter (whom he adopted). What are my daughters right's as a 13 yr old in a Kentucky court room?

Re: Child Mental Abuse
There are many options of protecting your daughter, but with mental abuse, then problem is the kind and quality of proof. The best scenario would be for her to see a qualified mental health professions, preferrably a psychologist, that could link up the cause of her desire not to visit with ongoing mental abuse. Another option is to request that the court appoint a guardian ad litem to represent her interests (though the parties still have to pay for the services). Lastly, one can move the court to interview your daugther.
