Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

child support collection

I have not received support since 2004 and that was only half months support. I would like to transfer my case to the county that I live in now, but since the father still lives in the county that the case was opened, they will not transfer the case. I was wondering why?? I'm the one that makes the doctors appointments and have to reschedule when I have to drive an hour to go to court.

Re: child support collection

It would help to know who you are asking to transfer the case. Under KRS 403.211, an action to enforce a child support order can be brought in either the county where the child resides or where the defendant resides. So, you may want to file an action to enforce the order in your county court.
