Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

I have three children with the same father and we have been split up for a year now. We were together for 8 years and never married. I have been trying to be objective about him spending time with the kids but worry every time that they are with him because he refuses to let me talk to them and won't let me know where he lives and what they are doing. My kids come home and say that he slaps them and that his soon-to-be wife spanks them a lot. I have confronted both of them and they say that they can do as they please when the kids are at their house and I have no say-so in that. My children are young and my biggest fear is that this contact is damaging them. They want to go to their dads sometimes but mostly cry and beg to stay home and when I pick them up after they have been there they tell me all these things that make me worry about their safety. What can I do to protect them until I take him to court? I do not want him picking them up from day care anymore and have been told that he can take them if he raises a fuss about it. Please help

The "slapping" part is the most worrisome. If they are being slapped in the face or marks are being left, or you believe they are being abused in some other way, then you need to seriously consider contacting child protective services. Otherwise, you need to get this in front of a judge soon.
