Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
Child's wants
My son is 11 years old and has a desire to live with me and my wife. I do not have 10000 to spend on a change of custody hearing, is there anything he can do on his own in order to speak to the judge and express his opinions?

Re: Child's wants
Although you have not specified details, I assume your son is in the custody of his mother, who refuses to voluntarily agree to a change of custody.
You can certainly represent yourself in the court which originally granted custody to the mother, by going to the clerk's office and filing a simple motion for change of custody.
Without an attorney, your chances of winning are greatly diminished; particularly if the mother resists a change of custody. By itself, the wishes of an 11-year old boy are insufficient for a judge to change custody.
If you call around, I am sure you will be able to find a family law attorney to represent you for much less that the $10,000 you mentioned.
