chlid problems

we have a 17 yr old daughter and we feel she aint responsible enough to be on her own, how can we have her staying here till she is 21 and she is trying to get with a guy from 25 off the internet and how can we stop him? please any help would be appreciated

Well, you could cancel your internet service, but I suspect she would find another computer elsewhere. I am afraid that, unless she is adjudged to be legally incompetent, she can do as she wishes at age 18. Currently, if she is not following your rules, you can attempt to file a beyond control petition with the court in your county.

The age to consent to sexual activity, since that is one concern that I am reading between the lines, is 16 in Kentucky. So, one can be stupid in Kentucky at 16 but you have to be 21 to be drunk and stupid. This does not mean you have to allow him to date or see your daughter, but it means that it is unlikely that the guy is breaking any laws.

Other than the beyond control petition, you may be better served consulting with a therapist or parenting expert for your daughter.
