Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

commissioners sale of property

i am married but separated. we own a 17.8 acre farm in which i borrowed my 1/2 from my husbands father to purchase in 2000. in 03 my husband lost his job & i was unable to pay his father with all the other bills. in 04 mr peck changed will stating my 1/2 would be my husbands inheritence if not paid before he died. in 06 my husband moved back in with his father leaving me with all finances. in 07 his father started the precedings for me to pay him or sign farm over to him. i had pre-paid legal for my side of the legal stuff. in april 08, i received ct papers attached to my gate which i forwarded to my pre-paid lawyers. apparently they never replied so i missed a ct date & a judge ordered in mr pecks favor for me to vacate. i acquired an attorney who filed motion that my husband never notified nor is he mentioned in the suit with me. 11-19-08 the judge denied my motion and has ordered the farm to be sold through a commissioners sale. how is it possible for me to be sued but not my husband? Is there any other options for me to stop the commissioners sale of the farm? if my husband had financially helped then as of june 08, we would have been debt free including payment to his father.

Re: commissioners sale of property

You may want to consult with a lawyer regarding bankruptcy. You may also want to consult a lawyer about suing your original lawyer who failed to respond.
