Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
I am going to court to reevaluate child support. When my ex husband shows up to court can he use his attorney that practices in another state or does he have to get one from the state I live in?

Only attorneys licensed in Kentucky can represent a client in a Kentucky court. The only exception is an attorney licensed in another state who is admitted for one case only. In order to do so, there must be local Kentucky counsel to sponsor that attorney in the case, and application has to be made to the KBA along with a filing fee. It is doubtful anyone would go to the trouble to seek admission pro hac vice for a child support case. If your ex wants representation, he'll hire local counsel.
