Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Dad for 12 years

I live in ky and my wife got pregenate by another man while we were married and he threw her out during her 6 th month and I have raised the child knowing that there was a good possibility that she wasn't mine ,and now after 12 long years of never seeing this child the guy wants to waltz in and play daddy what are me chances of getting to keep visitation with my little girl.....

Also she has moved out of state and my 15 year old daughter has moved in with me and has lived with me since dec of 1999 and I am still paying child support on her.......

Is there a possibility I may loose my visitation rights? my name is on the birth certificate but I know that don't make me the legal father.....

Re: Dad for 12 years

You should first relax. It sounds like the other putative father has not established any DNA parentage or other rights through court that could lead to you being declared not to be the father. Even if he tries, you have the stronger case for custody. Your most pressing issue is the child support. You need to go to court and file a motion to have the support suspended. Along with that, move to have custody officially declared to you. Call me if you need any other advice. Good Luck!
