divorce and child custody

i need to know how to go about getting a divorce and encuring that my husband dose not get my child. he is mentaly abusvie and i have proof i need to know the steps to take

First, there is never any guarantee regarding outcomes in divorce actions. No one can guarantee you will win custody of your child.

That being said, You need to be sure to document all the interactions with your husband that you believe are mentally abusive. You should also seek any documentation, witnesses, or other evidence that will bolster your claim.

Divorce can be very costly - both emotionally and financially and should be approached with the utmost caution.

If there is actual physical violence or threats of violence, then you can file for an Emergency Protective Order with your district court. This EPO can be on behalf of your child also.
