Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
divorce and still live together
My ex-husband and I divorced six years ago, but we still live together and have for the six years and still just like we were married. We bought more propety etc. Now we are going seperate ways and he says I have no rights but to what I agreed to in the divorce. He says that the only property I have a right to is our home and none the rest. He did agree to pay support but never hasn't for those six years, he makes now $100,000.00 a year to my little $20,000.00 and says he only has to pay $600.00 a month to me. Plus I have no right to his savings or retirement, because we are not married. Is this true? I don't know what to do. Seems like he's set and I get nothing?

Re: divorce and still live together
Very little is ever clear cut in family law. Kentucky does not recognize common law marriage, so the law will treat everything that occurred after the divorce decree as non-marital activity/assets.
However, depending on the facts of your situation, there may be other actions, including ones outside family law arena, that can be taken. There may be contract related actions or actions based on misrepresentaion. There is likely even an action for back child support. The divorce decree itself may be subject to attack, though unlikely.
Again, this stuff is all very fact specific and so you really must sit down with an attorney to try and figure it all out.
