Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Trying to get a divorce!!!!

we have been seperated at least 10 years or more, our children are grown & were given custody years ago to the grandparents-- we have been married app. 20 yrs. i have filed for a divorce & she will not sign the papers, my question is what is my next step, can she be forced to sign, and what can i do since i am incarcerated at the present time?? i would prefer we get this over with while i am in prison & start a new life once i am out.......... also are the children an issue thier ages are 14, 15, & 18. and i am now a grandparent, & the other two are legaly under someone elses care!!!! thank you,wanrss

Under normal circumstances, it would not matter whether or not she signed the papers. If she did not agree then you would file your petition, have her served by the sheriff and then proceed with the process. The children are an issue to some extent since some are still under the age of 18 and you may be liable for support to the grandparents. Since you are incarcerated your ability to do some things in a normal fashion is limited. There should be some sort of legal assistance in the institution. I do not know how long your sentence is, but if not unreasonable, do this when you get out. I do not see any particuler advantage to you to resolve this issue at the moment and it can be put off until later.
