Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Divorce - where to start

I want to file for a divorce, but I have no idea what needes to be done. We have two young children that we both want full cutody of. All of our accounts are joint accounts. And once I file, we will NOT be able to live together. When will the court decide who gets what? I plan on moving out of the house, but I know he won't let me take the boys without a court order. What should I do?

Get a lawyer! Either go to a pro bono (free) clinic or find the money somewehre. The scenario you described will take some expertise and not doing things right in the beginning will cost so much more in the long run. If there is domestic violence or threats of such, contact the local domestic violence shelter. Sometimes they help find legal assistance.

Alternatively and if there is no violence, marriage counseling is less expensive and might work.
