emancipation

my daughter is 16 and has a 7 week old son her boyfriend was living with us but we had to make him leave because of anger issues now she is talking about emancipation what are our chances of stopping that

Re: emancipation

Kentucky does not have a statute that regulates emancipation. However, the courts have recognized the doctrine of emancipation and define it as the relinguishment by the parents of the right to a child's income.

What this essentially means is that emancipation is up to you, the parent in 99% of the cases. If a youth is earning their own living and can provide for themselves financially, a parent may agree to let the youth live on their own.
