Emergency Protective Order

I put an EPO on my boyfriend now I am moving out of state and don't feel I need it, and I don't want it on his record I am moving on with my life and want this all behind me..We go to court on Sept 25..I was told if I drop this order that Social Services would take my child my child was never harmed or threatned..just me..

I have seen Social Services in Kentucky successfully remove children from their mom for dropping an EPO, so their threat is a credible one. Depending on when this move is going to occur, you may be able to ask for a continuance on the EPO and then go ahead and move. The EPO will likely be dismissed if you do not pursue it after the move. Be aware, though, that Social Services here can notify the child protection agency in the state where you move and submit a risk of harm referral if they believe you and the boyfriend are going to reconnect there.
