Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
EPO Probation
My father has allowed my mother to live on his property with a contract that my mother insisted they sign, allowing her to live there and, the contract was notarized. She got an EPO on my father and the judge still allowed her to live on his property. She recently called the police on him which resulted in him being in jail due to the breaking of his epo probation. Many people have told him he will have to stay in jail for 6 months to one year. Is this correct? And also, is there a way he can void the contact therefore allowing him to have her removed from his property?

It sounds as though Mom and Dad have a sort of landlord-tenant relationship, but if she isn't paying rent, there probably isn't any consideration to make such a contract valid.
The sentence is up to the discretion of the judge, and will depend on the circumstances. If he violated the EPO in order to torment her, he's probably going to serve a fair amount of time. If he violated it because she called him to come repair something on the property, then called the cops on him when he got there, he probably doesn't have anything to worry about. Either way, he should get a lawyer.
