Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

My ex-husbands sister wants to take my son to a family reunion out of town during his visitation time. He will not be going to the reunion. Is there any way I can stop her from taking my child out of the city?

Is there a reason you would want to? If you have joint custody, and the trip is happening during his visitation and not yours, then no, unless there is some reason the trip is harmful in someway. Otherwise, I'm certain the court would probably consider a short trip to visit family perfectly healthy for the child.

If your decree or settlement in the divorce gives you a "right of first refusal", then you could exercise that right.
