Sometimes people believe they cannot afford an attorney, but do not realize they are paying far more in the long run. That being said, you can file motions in the court regarding the matters you mention as easily as the ex can. Courts realize that circumstances change and so as long as what you are asking is reasonable, the judge will likely listen.
One tactic you may use is whenever the ex files a motion with the court, file a counter motion. You can usually get assistance from the court clerks in filing pro-se (by yourself) motions.
In doing this, be sure to realize that visitation and child support are two separate issues. They can be addressed in the same motion hour but do not connect one with the other in what you tell the judge.
The main mistake many pro-se people make in court is in their arguing. They either say too little or way too much. Next time your husband goes to court, have him write out on index cards what he needs to say - what he is asking for. Take wage documentation also. It is okay if he simply reads from the cards. The key is getting the information to the judge but not becoming hostile.
