Friend's ex=wife of 6 years still has name on deed of house
A friend of mine has been divorced for 6 years. The divorce was very messy and involoved 2 children, which he has not been able to see in during this time. The problem he has at this point, is that he is remarried with 2 step-children, however his ex-wife's name is still on the home. The ex never worked and never put a dime into the home and only lived there for 13 months. There are other circumstances regarding the divorce, however what he needs to know is how to remove her name from the home, preferably without going back to court. He has never missed a child support payment, has a very good job, and provides a wonderful home for his new family. How can he put the house in only his name (and present wife's name) in case something were to ever happen to him?

I would need to see what the judge ordered or the parties agreed, but she should have been required to sign a quitclaim deed. this owuld require an ttorney to take her back to ocurt, but not his attendance. feel free to call me to discuss.
