Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Grandson has been taken from mother and placed with us, our son, his father is in prison and due to be released on Monday Oct. 3rd. Our grandson has been with us for 3 months and Mother is now recommitting herself to state care( she and our grandson were in foster care before she turned 18) and the CHFS wants to put the mother and grandson in foster care. I do not understand why CHFS would remove the child from a family home and place him in foster care.I want to stop them from placing him in foster care and let Ryan (grandson) remain in our home.I need to know what to do to stop this. I just found this out from the social worker and I have to turn him over at 3pm Sept 28th (today)

You should consult a family law attorney who practices in that jurisdiction to go over all of the facts of your case. Without knowing any other facts, it stands to reason that the Cabinet wants the child out of your care because your son is about to be released from prison, since the dates coincide. Perhaps your son will be living with you once he is released, or at the very least they expect he will have unfettered access to the child once he is released. Obviously the Cabinet does not want the child with him, or the child would be placed with him upon his release. (I would assume his imprisonment had something to do with either drugs or violence, in which case.)
