Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
My husband has stopped paying his court ordered divorce settlement since he has been terminated from his job 12/2008. He has now disappeared and I can't find him to serve court papers for contempt. Is there any way that he can be found by his social securtiy number. He owes me over $12,000. on a credit card that he had garnishment taken out of his check while he was working. This is in lieu of mantainence with a stipulation that non payment could mean it turning into maintanence but I have remarried. I live in KY. Is there a statue of limitations on the settlement?. Is there any possible way of finding him. My attorney says that he cannot do anything unless he can be served. I have no children. Please help! I am in desperate need of this high credit card payment and he has put me in financial dispair.

If he has property in the state of Kentucky, then you can proceed against by getting a warning order attorney and then attaching the property whether or not the husband is actually served. If no property in Kentucky, you would be best served by getting a private detective.
