Right to inheiritance after 17 yrs. of marriage?

If a couple have been married for 17 years and the wife (who stands to inheirit of good sum of $$ but hasn't yet during the time married) is requesting a divorce (on the grounds that she no longer ''wants to be married''), is the spouse entitled to any of the future inheiritance?

Nope. Even if you remained married at the time of the inheritance, it would most likely be non-marital property unless she intermingled the money so that it could not be traced.

A future inheritance is a mere hope and dream. It is not an asset that is definite and ascertainable because there is a chance it may never come about.
