Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Hi. We have joint custody buy my sons father has residential custody of him. I feel my son is being neglected and abused. The order is out of the state of Missouri. The father now lives in Michigan and I live in Kentucky. Is that order still valid even thou he didn't register it with Michigan which is there state law? What could happen if i didn't let my son go back since he is afraid to?

According to the full faith and credit doctrine of the Constitution, a state's custody orders do not have to be "registered" in any other state. The other state is bound to follow them. If you believe he is being neglected or abused, you need to contact Kentucky social services while he is here in Kentucky or, if he is already back in Michigan, contact Michigan social services.
