Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky
What are the laws regarding someone obtaining your Social Security number without permission? If someone gets a paternity affidavit from the hospital where the child was born (which has the S.S. # on it), without the fathers consent is this illegal?
Thank you, I would appreciate any advise or answers on this subject.

Getting the social security number itself is not a crime. Using it fraudulently would be.
However, if you believe the hospital did not have permission to release medical information, that would be a HIPAA violation. Might be worth looking into.
