Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

i pay child support, i do not have insurance where i work but i am being forced to take an outside insurance plan for my two kids, even though im pretty sure they qualify or am getting kchip. can they force me only, not her, to buy health ins i cant afford?

Yes, they certainly can. Although, unless you were ordered to pay the full amount of the premiums, the cost is supposed to be divided according to the worksheet percentages for your contribution. If the children qualify for KCHIP, submit the application. Last I heard, there are no longer any insurers in Kentucky offering "child only," policies because they can no longer deny coverage to children who will taint their risk pool with their preexisting conditions. The result is, you likely have to purchase a family policy.
