Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

I have petition for custody of my 3 yr old son. I live in ky and his mother lives in tn. A woman claiming to be a lawyer has called myself, my mother, my sons brothers mother, and several other parties asking questions pertaining to my sons wellbeing. This womanhas reported everything negative about my childs mother back to her. Is this legal?

If the questions are being answered voluntarily, then it is legal. If you find out the woman is actually not a lawyer, that would be something to address. The best advice is to not give out any more information.

No, it is not legal to pretend to be a lawyer when you are not. However, the better question is, why on earth are you talking to someone claiming to be a lawyer, who isn't YOUR lawyer?Never talk to someone who does not represent your interests. Nothing good can come of it. If it's child services or the police, for instance, tell them you'll be happy to set up a time to speak with them WITH YOUR LAWYER PRESENT. If this person is an attorney, she can talk to you when she's either named you in a lawsuit, or sent a subpoena and notice for your deposition. With your lawyer present!
