Putting someone's name on a birth certificate means absolutely nothing. If a child is born outside of wedlock, there is no presumed father, and paternity has to be established through a court action. Your ex-boyfriend can ask the court for paternity testing and, if he is the biological father, he will have legal standing to pursue custody and visitation (as well as having a child support obligation).
