Question regarding child custody. One spouse is an alcoholic but working on recovery. can joint custody be awarded.

It isn't a problem to be an addict. It's a problem to be off the wagon. It's the use of intoxicating substances that will prevent joint custody. If the parent is in treatment and stays clean, it shouldn't prevent the court from granting joint custody.
