A power of attorney can be revoked by the person who granted it so long as they have not been deemed incompetent. Typically, a new power of attorney will contain language expressly revoking a prior one. The person being replaced needs to be notified in writing and the new power of attorney should be filed of record anywhere that the old one had been filed.
