Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

What rights does a 15 yr. old have?

For four years, I and my husband have had custody of (his) daughter, who is presently 15 yrs. old. Recently, the biological mother has convinced the child to live with her. We do not think that this would be a healthy enviornment for the child. What can we do? Thank you

If you have court ordered custody, the biological mother would have to motion the court for a change of custody and you could present your evidence of unfitness and/or evidence that living with the mother is not in the child's best interest. The childs wishes are a factor in deciding custody, esp. at such an age, but it is not the final determiner of custody. Contact an attorney to help see that custody remains with you. Good Luck.
