Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

My son is going to be 10 in Sept. My husband and I have been together since he was 9 months old, so he is not my sons biological father. He has been asking about getting his last name changed to our but doesn't want to get rid of his name now. I guess he wants it hyphenated. Is this possible.

It is possible and it is a simple procedure done through your county's district court. The clerk there probably has a form petition you can fill out. The one complication, though, is if his biological father is alive and does not agree to the name change, the judge may not grant it.
