How old does a teenager need to be to leave their parents home

There is no right for a minor (under the age of 18 years) to become emancipated in Kentucky. There are only two ways for a minor to be emancipated before the age of 18 and both require parental consent. If your parents agree for you to get married prior to age 18, then you would be considered emancipated and if your parents say you can live on your own PLUS you show you can provide for yourself financially, PLUS you actually live responsibly, then you would be considered emancipated. Marriage as a teenager may free you from one uncomfortable situation, but it will land you in even more challenging circumstances.
