temporary child custody

is it possible for the aunt of a child who has been truant for at least three times and said child has been picked up for this ,held in detention center to get temporary custody to keep child from having to go back to detention center?

Is it possible? Sure. The issue is how to convince the judge that it is in the best interest of the child. You would need to explain how a change in custody would resolve the truancy issue.

Even before getting to that point, the aunt has to have a way to even propose the idea. If the parent is in agreement, then they can just request this. If not in agreement, the aunt has no standing to even be in court but she can contact the prosecuting attorney and offer her services and hope they are receptive to the idea.
