can a wife legally check her husbands email??

i live in the commonwealth of ky ,we do have different law here ...is it leagal to check husbands email for the benifit of stabilty??? does the right of matter law apply in this situation???????

Many things differ in Kentucky - from say Antartica where lawlessness happens to abound. Thankfully there are not many people there to take advantage of the absence of laws - but you have to watch those penguins!

Anyway, to your question. If you mean is it legal to look at your husband's e-mail because he has given you the password or permission - then sure, knock yourself out. If you mean is it legal to hack into it some way, then I certainly would advise against it. If you have stumbled across his password by some happenstance then it is probably not so much a legal issue as it is one for the two of you to work out - perhaps in counseling.

Whether you technically break a privacy law or not, if you end up in court in a divorce situation and want to start admitting into evidence e-mails you have gotten by being sneaky or using spyware, the judge is likely to blow a gasket. You are not granted a right by law based on the virtue of marriage to invade private communications.
