Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Kentucky

IN May 2010 i was going through a personal matter and felt suicidal and was involuntarily committed under a 72 hour hold order in ky but under a new ky law KRS 237.108 I can petition the court to remove the firearms prohibitions which under law Im not allowed to buy, sale, or posess a firearem if ive been involuntarily committed. So I got the form and went to file the petition and the clerk said until recently they didnt assign case numbers to the 72-hour hold orders and there is no case number and without a case number I cant file the petition what do I do. The clerk says i should beable to posess a firearm but the State Police and ATF says no without this petition being granted what do I do

You might call someone at the Administrative Office of the Courts and see what they recommend, since it's just a procedural issue. I see no reason why the clerk cannot now assign a case number to the matter, but the AOC would know what to do.
