Childhood rape

My name is--name removed-- I was molested and raped by my baby sitter when I was a child. He confessed to my parents later on in life and nothing was done because they were embarrassed and ashamed. I am an adult now and want to know if there is anything I can do about it. Can I file a cival suit or crimmanal suit? I know I was not the only victim He showed up at my grandfathers funeral and I have made the deccision to do something about it. If I can

You may still be able to go after this person with a civil action. How old are you? What is your date of birth? There are time limits for bringing law suits. The time doesn't run until you are an adult so if you just turned 18 then you should be in good shape.
