I petitioned my parents in 2008, I just recently got married and changed my last name, would that affect my petition?

Are you a U.S. citizen because if you are I don't know why your petition is taking so long. Has the petition been approved? If it has not been approved, you can send your marriage license to USCIS and let them know that you have changed your last name.
