Re: renewal of visa

Are you still in student status and the five years are ending, with a likely continuation of student status?

Re: renewal of visa

As an F-1 your status in the U.S. remains valid for the Duration of Status. It should say this on your I-94 Form - Valid for D/S. This means that as long as you are studying in the program then you should be able to continue your studies. If the underlying F-1 visa (the visa stamp in the passport) is no longer valid, then you should be able to get a new F-1 visa stamp (assuming that you are qualified) at a U.S. Consulate Office in your home country or possibly in Canada or in Mexico (or at some other appropriate Consulate outside the U.S.). If there are other confounding factors involved in the queries you have posed you may want to seek out qualified immigration counsel. Our office can be visited on the web at www.visaserve.com for additional information.
